A hush-hush government meeting involing the top ranking members of every area of the government at Area 52 (that's where the really strange stuff happens)
The meeting is held on Level 28-B in Conferance room

The gathered people are seated around a long table. The only light visible is directly over the table, all the faces are hidden in darkness.

"My gathered compatriots. We are gathered here today to deal with a situation to has come to our attention !" A man said at the head of the table, while smoking a cigar. The burning cigar slightly lights up the man's face.

" Ladies & gentlemen, the government has reason to believe that aliens and/or another country has a base on the moon." The man says as he turns on a slide projector.

"One of our satilites recorded this picture."

It's a picture of the darkside of the moon.

" It's just the Moon." A voice said.

"Yes, it is. But in section 26839.910, there is this."

The slide changes.

"What is it ?" another voice said

" It is a metal circular building. The roof is completely made of glass. On closer expection, we could barely make out a series of bookcase, loaded with books. My plan is to send an elite group of astronauts to the moon & check out this building and find if this building is friend or foe."

"If it's foe ?"

" Destroy it." the man says as he blows a puff of smoke.

2 weeks later,

On The Dark side of the Moon, there is metal circular building known at the IOL Library.

The walls are lined with books.  The roof of the Library is glass, it let's in the right amount of reading light. The center on the main floor, is a sitting/reading area. Most the books & sitting area gather dust.  The Library rarely is visited, mostly becuase it so far from any other planet's with life on it.

Sitting on the second floor, watching on varrious screens the happenings on earth, sits the Librarian. He sits in a chair from an abandonned NASA lunar lander. His long flowing cape, which he seems to wear almost as a cloak, draped all around him & the chair.  His eyes dart from one screen to another.  The Face partcally covered by his hood. But, from under the hood, his emerald eyes gleam in the moonlight.

The Librarian looks at the screens & types in commands & presses buttons, the screens change to show differant things. Most of the creens show earth. For his main job is to collect all the information on Earth. He has said a code to never interfear with the history of the Earth. He has wanted to many times, he has seen it many times in there past, the one thing he hates is history repeating itself, mostly when it's for the worse.

A screen some the front, a spacecraft is approving the moon's surface. It is from earth. The Librarian types in the command to engage the cloaking system. It makes the Library turn completely invisible &if a person could walk right thought the Library & not know it. When in cloak, the Library can not be detected on anything used by the astronauts used currently.

The Librarian goes back to monitoring other activities. The censors place all over the Moon should help monitor there activities.

There Shuttle has touched down the surface, they aren't far from the last three landings that NASA did secertly. The door hatch opens & the astronauts climb down the ladder. There are five of them. They set up various instruments. Taking samples of rock, sand, etc.

The Librarian takes no notice of this, they have done this before. Then, 20 miles from them another NASA space craft sets down. This craft is more technological advanced that the first. As the five astronaust dismebark the craft, there space suits are better suited for living,moving, basicly eveything on the moon then the other suits the astronauts are wearing.

The Librarian types in a command to double the cloaking system. He has been monitoring NASA more lately. There have been rumors of a more advnaced spacecraft & better spacesuits, nothing confirmed. The Librarian thinks he just confirmed it.

The astronauts start heading towards the Library. The Librarian knows that he needs to be ready just incase the cloaking system just doesn't do the trick like the last eight times.

The first set of astronauts are wearing the typical white bulky suits, the second set is wearing black, almost form fitting suits.

The slowly make there way towards the Library, that they may or may not see.

Now, the Librarian is ignoring all the other screens. They are on autorecord, as always.

The astronauts stop just about two feet from the front door of the Library.

They get out small circular devise & hold them to about where they think the door is. The devices power up.

After a couple minutes, the cloak disappears. The building is visible for everyone to see. The Astronauts get out more of the devices and place a couple on the giant metal doors. The doors open after a couple minutes. The Astronauts wall in.

As they wander around, acouple analyse the building.

"Sir, there is air in here. We can take off our helmets."

The astronuats take off there helmets.

" Sir, come check this out." One of the astronaust call from the second floor.

The astronauts find what they think is the stairs and go up to the second floor. In the middle of the second, there is a break in the series of bookcases. There is a series of screens & a chair from an abandonned NASA lunar lander.

"Look at this !" One says as they point at a screen showing there ship & another screen showing the other group of astronauts.

"Someone was just here. The seat is still warm."

The each astronaut pulls a gun type weapon out of a special hollster. Each astronaut start to creep around the Library looking for anyone.

A couple see blurs of green rush by them. Nothing they can really shot at, some try.

Then, most of the astronuats are cornered into the middle of the library. They are all standing in the sitting area. They slowly walk in circles, looking up. The green blur appears, some shoot. It hits nothing but wall, book or bookcase.

Then, a blinding pain shoot throught there minds. They all pass out. Most in the seating area, two on the second floor. The Librarian stands in the sitting area, smiling.

Four hours later at the secert rocket launch pad in Area 52. The second NASA shape lands. The government has been worried since the ship left the moon, there has been no response from anyone inside.

A group of medic's go inside & find all the astronauts unconsious. The ship's autopilot was activated to return home.

Once the astronauts woke up, they were hearded into a darkened room. a bright light shined into there eyes, they could only see the outlines of the people asking them questions.

"What did you find on the Moon ?"

"We found the building question, it was filled with books. There was monitoring station, it was monitoring us, the other group of astronauts & various place of Earth. We then went to look for the operator of the building. We were then attacked. We passed out & woke up here on Earth." the leader of the group said.

"Is that all ?"

"Yes."

"Good, you can go now."

The astronauts were lead out of the room & out of Area 52.

They all got in there cars & drove away.

As the leader drove away, he remebered what the man in green told him. The man's lips didn't move, but he could hear him. He told him who he was & what he was doing on the moon & to not tell anyone who we was. He kept that promise.

Back on the moon, The Librarian added one of the guns the astronauts were using to his collection of Earth artifacts. He went back to his station & continued his watch.
